hotel atlantic

please can anyone offer advise;

If we get the shared cedaz taxi from the airport i.e. the 90kr one,does that only drop us at the namestie republiky? But if we pay to have one all to ourselves i.e 480kr

will that drop us at the hotel?

Also,can anyone recommend any nice %26quot;rustic%26quot; pubs near to the atlantic hotel that do decent food and decent beer,but arn%26#39;t too smokey!! Or is that asking too much?

Finally,are there any interesting museums that cover the nazi or communist occupations?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Scheduled 90 crown cedaz minibus goes straight to Namesti Republiky, but only goes every half an hour and they often say that there is only one minibus per half hour at that, so they try to push you onto the unscheduled minibuses.

Unscheduled minibuses take you right to your hotel, but may drop others off on the way (you will probably not have the minibus to yourselves). You pay a flat fee of 480 crowns for 1,2,3 or 4 people.

Coming back though, the sccheduled Cedaz minibus is a good idea, as it does cost only 90 crowns each and is normally half full. Walk through the Cedaz building courtyard on Na Porici street to the other side on V Celnici street and you will see the stop.

Afraid you are not being on this planet asking for a rustic non smoky Czechh pub. Good czech pubs in the centre include Kolkovna on v Kolkovne street and the Svejk pub on Siroka. Both serve food.

There is a museum of communism, but it is run by an American and so in my opinion shows you nothing worthwhile about the period at all. The Crowne Plaza hotel at the end of the 20 or 25 tramline from Dejvikca metro was the former communist International Hotel and is the only wedding cake building built in Prague and is quite interesting to look around, even now.

Nothing much also is commemorated about the war apart from the momument to the Heydrich assassins in the St Cyril and Methodius church on Resslova street near Karlovo namesti. You can though go to the SS shooting grounds at Kobylisy, a short walk from Kobylisy metro station
