Travelling from the airport to the city

Can anyone recommend the best way to get from Prague airport to the city, we are staying in the Mala Strana area ?

Hi

Exactly where are you staying and is it on a tram or metro route?

Mike%26#39;s chauffeur service is very good - have just returned to Scotland from Prague. He charges 550 kc for a single trip per car. www.mike-chauffeur.cz. Very friendly service and was waiting at the airport when we arrived.

I always go by public transportation when i come to Prague.

It cost 20 Coronas. Just remember to buy the ticket in the maschine at the bus stop on the station and stamp it in the ticket mascine in the bus.

From Prague Airport –Take bus No. 119 to endstation at Dejvická

At Dejvická go down to Metro station and go two stops to Malostranská Metro station. Leave the Metro and go out of station and onto the Tram station that you will find just outside. Go one stop by tram No. 12, 22 or 23 to Malostranské náměstí (Lesser Quarter Square) tram stop.

You are in the middle of Mala Strana :-)

Tazi to Mala Strana should cost you no more than 600 crowns. Prague airport shuttle and the Cedaz minibuses outside the airport will cost you about 100 to 150 crowns less. Personally, if I have not been to Prague before, unless you are staying right near Malostranske metro station, I wouldn%26#39;t take public transport, as the cobbled streets round Mala Strana are not condusive to wheeling suitcases

Hi Peb7

Wheeling suitcases over cobbles is no problem for me, that%26#39;s why I take a man! I direct operations while he has the luggage, problem solved:)

Obviously if you are the man this does not help!

Thanks all of you, luggage will not be a problem! Is the public transport system quite simple to use though?

Jezzy-abc%26#39;s directions are spot on (apart from crowns, not coronas - corona is a type of lemonade)

Yes, buy a 3 day ticket, validate once then just keep it with you, no need to stamp again. Valid on trams and buses, also the funicular up to Petrin hill. Simple!
