For beautifulswan

Hi;I was reading through the threads today, when I spotted your suggestion re the hotel Florenc; I am staying in the hotel Beseda Bonsai about 300metres from the Florenc, can you tell me any more details re this area, you said it is a quiet area but only 20 mins walk from the centre. Are there many restaurants/pubs/grocery shops nearby?

many thanks

Florenc is still in the process of being reclaimed, as it was the worst part of Prague which was hit by the floods, so parts of it still look delapidated. Nevertheless, delapidated does not mean dangerous. Would say it is 30 minutes walk from the centre, although the metro and tram from Florenc gets you there much quicker. Not many decent restaurants in the area, although if you walk towards the centre down Petrska you will come to some fairly decent restaurants including Cervena Tabulka on Lodecka, which I think is the best Czech restaurant in town

Hi,Dont remember too many shops although some are within the metro station, but there was a market by the Florenc bus station across the road.2/3 very cheap pubs/hotel bars(40p pint)including a 24 hour one along the road to our hotel.I would be inclined to eat in the centre though. One other bit of info,we never came out of the same exit at the metro station, there were several.Bit confusing after a few beers!Enjoy Prague, you wont be disappointed.

Metro exit at Florenc is easy. Follow the signs for %26quot;Tram%26quot;, not any other direction and you will always come out on Sokolovska street
