Would you suggest North or South Czech Republic??

We are going to the Czech Republic in May for three weeks. We are spending five days in Prauge then heading to several castles and towns south of Prague, spending a few days in the Cesky Krumlov/Budejovice area, and a couple in the Telc region. We will have a few days left to do some more exploring. Would you recommend the SE part of the country (i.e. Mikulov, Lednice, Valtice) or the N part (i.e. Melnik, Jicin, Broumov)? We hear that Olomouc is a must see as well but we are unsure if we will go there or not (would prefer to spend time in smaller towns). We love history, architecture, scenery, walking, quaint towns, etc. We are not going to the Karlovy Vary area. Any suggestions or recommendations?? S or N?

Thanks lots!!

Hi there, I actually come from Olomouc. I think you%26#39;ve chosen some wonderful places to visit, the Sumava area is georgeus(make sure you visit Trebon and the lakes around). With regards to your question: I would personally head South. In May the weather will be quite warm so can explore a bit.Lednice castle s a must as well as Valtice, these wine areas are just relaxing and unspoilt and you can do a lot of walking arond the huge lakes there. (You could even go to Vienna as you will be just an hour or so away). If you want to visit Olomouc, let me know, I can help you with what to see and where to go. It%26#39;s not a huge city, nothing like Prague but I would say as historical as Prague it just means you can enjoy the culture and history a bit more. Definately not as commercial as Prague....You can email me if you like on: adrianaf@email.cz
