Bellevue restaurant

When we are in Prague the upcoming weekend, we were planning to go out for a bit of a fancy dinner one night. After quite a bit of research, we decided to give Bellevue a try. We thought both the food and the place looked lovely.

Then I read some terrible reviews at Fodor%26#39;s web page, claiming that the steak was not really beef, the waiters argumentative and so on. Granted, there were also good reviews, but I am a bit sceptical at the moment. Has anyone been there lately, and can tell me which reviws to trust?

Alternative restaurant tips will also be appreciated, preferably not to far away, as we will be staying on Husova, and wouldn%26#39;t want to walk to far after a long day of sightseeing.

Bellevue has an intimite dining room, but although it claims to have a view, only one or two tables do in fact have the actual castle view. Food is very Czech and quite heavy. I actually think that it is a tourist rip off and you can get far better quality and service for much the same price at V Zatisi on Liliova just round the corner from Husova, Pravda on Parizska and Kampa Park over the Charles Bridge (which makes a wonderful after dinner walk back to your hotel)

I have been at Bellevue on Saturday and the food was absolutely excellent, so was the service. My visitors were flabbergasted. The view is great, if you have one; make sure you book a table by the window.

I also like V Zatisi far better, even though it has no view and the newly renovated left room is heavy colored in orange and black. Book the room to the right, thats lovely. It is the same owner as Bellevue and both food and service are excellent. When it comes to service, he is the best. The third restaurant in this group is Mlynec, below the Charles River, also, with a table by the window, a lovely place. www.praguefinedining.com.

Very close to Bellevue is Mlynec, which has great views of the Charles Bridge. It is also owned by the Bellevue people. Ask for a table by the window, there are more with views than Bellevue. Food was very good, though not ground-breaking or mind-blowing.

Martina, you said that the food was excellent at Bellevue, but you still prefer Zatisi, or did I misunderstand you?

To make it clear, our number one priority is the quality of the food, I really don%26#39;t mind grumpy service or no view as long as the food is good (preferably VERY good). So if your conclusion is that the food at Zatisi is better than at Bellevue, I think we will go for Zatisi.
