Best Pubs in Prague

Hi, I need a local expert to find the best pubs in Prague. We are going in September to support Wales in the football. Any advice regarding Prague on match day (are all the bars open) we like mixing with home supporters and having a great, beer drinking day.

Having just returned from Prague I can highly recomend a great pub, Its called %26quot;U Vejvodu Pub %26amp; Beerhall Restaurant%26quot;. Its a two minute walk from old town square. They serve great food and the beer is very cheap only 25 Crowns for half a litre (500ml), the same beer cost 99 Crowns in the old town square.

They had huge plasma screens so I guess they show football.

You obviously need to remember great pubs and great pubs which will let Welsh football fans in when Wales play are probably completely different (Wales football supporters have almost as bad a reputation and image as English football supporters in Eastern Europe after widely publicised incidents in Vienna).

Obviously the many expat bars will be very welcoming. U Vejvodu may be and so may U Zlateho tygra on Husova or U Medviku on Na Perstyne both about 10 minutes walk are good typical Czech pubs, but as I said above, whether they let groups of you in is another thing

Thanks for your replies, there is only 4 of us and trouble is the last thing that we look for, and to be tarred with the same image as English thugs is disappointing to say the least. All we look to is to have a good time and the excuse to sample the wonderful Czech beer once again.

if you keep a low profile with a group of 4 of you, you should get in the above places. Unfortunately though cardiff city fans have given the welsh a bad name over these parts

Rocky O%26#39;Reilly%26#39;s on Stepanska by Wenceslas Square will be packed for the games, I%26#39;m sure. The food is pretty good. There are also places like Legends sports bar near Old Town Square.

Thanks for your advice peb7 maybe we can meet for a drink when we get there to show our appreciation. Iechyd da (cheers) tycaps.
