Great Short Break review

Just back from an excellent two nigts in prague. Stayed at the Radisson SAS Alcorn hotel which was beautiful and clean, with a great cocktail bar BeBop. First night checked out Buffalo Bills mexican restaurant, great food, service and value. Next morning went on a prague intro sightseeing tour visiting the main sights on A mini bus, booked through prague experience 2hr trip.

Which gave us a good overview of the city and helps you get your bearings.

Ate a the taj Mahal indian restaurant behind the museum valentines nite, food nice, service slow. Had a great short break, used cedaz for transfers very good, any Q%26#39;s pls ask ?

Was the sightseeing tour entirely on the

mini bus? If not, how much was a walking tour?

Regards

Martha

The tour wasn%26#39;t entirely on the mini bus , it included a 45min guided walk through prague castle, cost of the tour is 420ck.

the company who I booked through is

www.pragueexperience.com

they offer a walking tour also which is 4 hours long which takes in all the major site, that 450ck.

We are going at the end of March, know absolutely nothing about Prague at all, but can you tell me is it a flat or hilly city. Hoping to stay in one of the many apartments as we are there for four nights

Castle is on a big hill (but don%26#39;t worry, you can get a tram up the hill). Old town relatively flat.

I am perplexed how someone can book a holiday to somewhere and know absolutely nothing about the place they are spending money to come to, unless they are on a stag party tour that is

Ringmer, suggest you nip dowm to the book shop and get a book on prague, it will make your trip a lot easier and enjoyable

Yes I am intending to get a book, but only booked flights yesterday so no chance until the weekend. I am currently reading through various postings on the Prague forum which is very, very busy (I post a lot on the Alberta forum and I thought that was busy but nothing compared to Prague).

And peb7 the whole point is that neither my husband and I know anything about Prague and wish to learn. We managed to get some cheap flights that coincided with a few days off work, so we wish to visit somewhere new. The request from waterbaby21 was %26quot; any Q%26#39;s please ask%26quot; so I did.

We are definitely not coming for a stag party, but hopefully for a few nights cultural experience in a quiet apartment - just totally bemused by all the choices at present.

Regarding the Qs, this prague forum is very user friendly and as such you can learn an enormous amount on prague before you leave home.

As peb said prague is relitively flat, until you get around the castle area. Just be warned that the streets are very cobbely so wear sensible shoes. I had great trouble even walking to the restaurant round the corner in high heels.
