Money in Prague

I am interested on going to Prague in the summer....i didn%26#39;t really understand the currency converter. How does the money compare to US dollar? It is a cheaper place to visit then lets say Italy or France with the Euro? How are the prices on food and shopping? thanks!!! :)

Prague is cheaper than the European countries that use the Euro.

When we were there the exchange rate was about 25 to 1. So 100 crones was $4. 500 crones was $20 and 1000 crones was $80. This was the guideline we used to figure out how much we were spending.

crowns, not crones

im still a little confused can you fill me in a little better....it says you are a local expert of Prague. She said 25 to 1.....like in coins dollars?? please help thanks :)

Prague is a much cheaper place to visit than Italy or France - the food is very reasonable, the beer is very very reasonable and the shopping is good - visit the Tesco store and supermarket where you can buy a bottle of excellent Czech beer for 30-40 cents.

Hi

The exchange rate means that for every dollar you will receive about 25 crowns, so if something costs 100 crowns it means you will have spent approximately 4 US dollars, 175 crowns 7 US dollars and so on.

It is a much cheaper place than Italy or France as long as you spend with care. Eat in the Old Town Square and you will spend a fortune, walk a couple of streets away and the prices will plummet.

I assume that there would be, but just to confirm... are there ATM%26#39;s in the Prague airport, to get a few crowns?

Duhki,

there are ATMs in prague airport, I posted the whereabouts of them on these pages a few weeks ago, so if you scroll back a few pages you can see where they are, if you cannot find it, go to livingprague.com and you can find the info

there are are ATM%26#39;s and money chnaging facilities at the airport. Location depends on whether you are flying direct into Prague from the US or via London (in which case you arrive in terminal 1) or if you fly in via Paris or Frankfurt (in which case you arrive via Terminal 2)

Actually flying in from Brussels. But, I am sure I will stumble across one or two on my way to claim baggage.

ATM%26#39;s in the new terminal are in the arrivals hall after you come out of customs
