Travel from Prague to Plzn

We%26#39;re planning a week-long stay in Prague in early May, and need to make a side-trip to Plzn for a concert one evening. What would be the best way to get there? Would there be a way to get back to Prague late at night?

Also, would it be worth spending a day in Plzn?

Train takes an hour and a half to Plzen. You can also take the bus which takes the same time.

Trains leave every hour, but the last train back leaves at 10pm. After that in the early hours of the morning (after 3am), some of the international sleeper trains stop at Plzen on their way to Prague

Plzen is an interesting day trip. The most famous place is the brewery, where you can have a tour and drink the beer. The main square is quite interesting and the city hall tower is worth climbing to get a view of the city. There is also an interesting memorial to General Patton and the American troops who liberated the city in 1945

Thank you!

Do you have any idea what a taxi would cost? A ridiculous amount, I suppose.

upwards from 100 dollars would probably buy one at night. You would need to negotiate a fixed price on the spot with the driver, rather than let him turn his metre on. for that money, you could hire a car for 24 hours and remove the stress of travelling back
