transfers on a budget!

As there are 5 of us coming to Prague this time-not our usual 2 our Cedaz transfer will double in price. Do any of the taxi firms take 5 passengers? if they do would it be cheaper than Cedaz. My husband thinks I am mad looking for cheaper transfers and as he is paying for us I should not bother but I am a typical Scot looking for a saving which we would ultimately spend on other things in Prague! I know we could get the Cedaz to Namesty Republicky and walk a little to the tulip Inn but he does not want to consider this.Any options?

Taxi firms won%26#39;t take 5 people. Cedaz door to door minibus for 5 people will be 960 crowns (the grand sum of 5 pounds per person). You could do cheaper with www.prague-airport-shuttle.com, but you may only save 2 pounds per head.

Are people really that poor in Scotland to have to fret about such measley things?

Peb ,I am not mean,I have booked a taxi through our hotel for 650czk,which is exactly the same as I paid in 2004.lot cheaper than i would pay in mt home city.

My husband will be mad I%26#39;m considering the cost. I%26#39;m not poor ( well nearly, 2 kids at uni ) and transport is a bargain in Prague compared to Scottish transfer prices but we are doing Singapore, Sydney, Ayers Rock, Cairns,Brisbane, Fiji %26amp; San fransisco......on a 6 week trip later this year so a budget is necessary this time.I%26#39;ll just let him fork out the £50 for return transfers!

|||

You take the Cedaz minibus - make him take the public transport and meet him at the nearest metro station having first dropped the bags at the hotel. Then buy him a beer for saving 460 crowns per trip (11 pounds fifty)

|||

Great idea!

Or suggest as a martyr that you will go by public transport and the other four by Cedaz minibus and then when he says that is nonsense, you are in the moral high ground, as you were the one who was for saving and not spending money. At least, that is how it would work in our family

I did suggest this one but he thought I was daft! To be honest I would not mind doing the public transport thing just for the experience.I stayed in a hostel my first visit to Prague in 2003 with some work colleagues. Our flights cost over £200 on that occasion so the accomodation had to be budget. It is not an experience I would like to repeat although it was great fun. I%26#39;m sure we could have had a not bad triple hotel room for £30 each instead we paid £6 a night!Our flights from Edinburgh with the Czech airline cost £90 each this time and the hotel £30 each per night so £180 for a 3night/4day break- great value!
