Best way to get from Cesky Krumlov to Vienna

Does anyone have any tips on the best way to travel Cesky to Vienna? From what my group and I have found so far it seems we need to take a bus and then a train. Is this the best/only way? Will this take all day? Is it possible to leave Cesky and travel to Vienna overnight? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Generally you need to change at Ceske Budejovice and/or Gmund. Although there is a train leaving Cesky Krumlov at 18.07 which arrives in Vienna at 23.39 and you only need to change at Ceske Budejovice. No overnight trains unless you go via Prague.

to find the train times, go to www.idos.cz, click on the union jack at the bottom right hand corner of the page, click on %26quot;vlakove spoje%26quot; and then on the next page, enter where you want to go and the dates to find the times

I didn%26#39;t realize it was going to be such a long train ride :(

Thanks for the help!

hmmm

I have heard rumor of a shuttle van that leave Cesky Krumlov at 11 AM every day to Linz Railroad Station, then returns. Good Train service Salzburg / Linz / Vienna.

Has anyone any info on this van? Is the rumor true? Who is C Krumloc to contact re it?

Van does go. Cesky Krumlov tourist office should be able to tell you more.

The first connection is Mon-Sat, the 2nd Mon-Fri, but check www.idos.cz (Cesky Krumlov-Vyssi Brod) and http://fahrplan.oebb.at/bin/query.exe/en (Vyssi Brod - Vienna)

to robbiaustria:

does that mean one bus ride from ck to linz (no change), then walk across to the train station, then one train ride all the way to vienna (no change)?

|||

Nope, it means changing busses at every station mentioned...

with the first connection: Vyssi Brod, Bad Leonfelden and Linz

or with the 2nd connection only

Bad Leonfelden and Linz

In Vyssi Brod and Bad Leonfelden you will just change busses, in Linz it%26#39;s about 5 mins. walk from the Busterminal to the trains.
