Hotel Karlova

My husband and i, and my sister and her husband will be staying at the hotel Karlova (5th and 6th floor apartments), in early April. Any feedback on this hotel?

Hotel U karlova has good reviews on this site - look at the reviews section here. It is in a quiet street just next to the Charles Bridge. YOu will find mala strana bliss in the morning and evening when the majority of tourists who stay in the old town are not there

Hello Peb 7,

The Hotel Karlova where we are going to stay is not %26#39;U Karlova%26#39;. The address is listed as Karlova 20. They are newly renovated apartments on the 5th and 6th floor of %26#39;a 1905 Baroque building%26#39;. I know there is a restaurant on the main floor of the hotel. It looks to be a busy street. Any advice?

karlova is a busy street - it is the main thoroughfare between the old town square and the charles brudge. Unless you have a room at the back or a high floor it may be noisy. Also, it may be difficult for a taxi to take you door to door

I read your suggestion about AAA taxi who speak English at phone number 14014. Is that all I dial on mobile phone? We will need transportation to and from the opera etc., and need reliable service. We are staying at Karlova Apartments (above Reykjavik Restaurant?). My husband does not walk well so we need great and reliable taxi service. Your advice?
