Definitely not walking distance. Little bit complicated by public transport. I think you would get the metro one stop down to Florenc and outside take the number 3 tram as it goes under the motorway flyover. This tram eventually takes you along the river where you change onto the 18 I think for 3 or 4 stops. You can get exact details from the hotel. Personally I would come out of the railway station, cross the park and get one of the hotels on the other side (holiday inn express of Maria Prag) to get you a decent taxi. Don%26#39;t take the ones at the station. rip off time.

Personally I would take the metro from Florenc to Karlovo namesti. When you exit, take the Karlovo namesti and not the Palackeho namesti exit. At the top of the escalators, take the exit on the first right; this goes up past the Charles Square office centre (you will see Raiffeissen bank at the top of the exit escalator). Cross over the road to the tramline that then heads out of the sqaure (same direction as the traffic) and then catch number 18 or 24 tram down the hill to the hotel union.

But I would only travel on trams with minimum of luggage - there are steep steps up to trams and not much space to store luggage.

If you have much luggage, ask the hotel how much a transfer will be from the central station
