Guided tours

We are thinking about booking a guided tour for our first morning in Prague. Can anyone recommend either a walking or walking/bus tour. Also, is it best to book in advance or can these tours be booked easily when we arrive.

Thanks also to all who replied to my question on the National Theatre. We have now booked and look forward to April.

I have booked with www.prague-guide.info - Sarka has come well recommended and her assistant has been very kind and helpful answering my questions.

I personally think that unless you really want a deep insight into specific areas of Prague, or you are unable to walk far that introductory guided tours of Prague are a waste of money. For the old town, just buy a guide book and a map before you come and walk (most of the centre is pedestrianised which the buses cannot go in). Walking from the old town square to the Charles Bridge will get your bearings of everything. If you don%26#39;t want to walk all the way up the hill to the castle, the number 22 or 23 trams will take you up there for 30 pence or so.
