Nearest Metro to Union Hotel?

I notice that everyone advises people staying at the Union Hotel to use trams to get around. I notice that the Metro Stations Vysehrad and Karlovo Namesti seem to be close to the hotel looking at a map. How long does it take to walk to these stations or are they uphill or difficult to get to?

How long would it take to walk from the hotel to the Old Town Square?

15 to 20 minutes uphill walk from the Union to Karlovo namesti metro and about 35 to 40 minutes to the old town. Take the tram instead - it will take you five minutes to Karlovo namesti. Tram 18 continues past Karlovo namesti and goes by the old town along the river and to Mala Strana and the castle area and tram 24 takes you to Wenceslas Square

Thanks again Peb7, How far from Union Hotel to Vysehrad Metro Station?

Even longer and with an almost vertical uphill walk. What is wrong with taking trams? They are as frequent and reliable as the metro, and you get to see the city at the same time.

Thanks Peb7, nothing wrong with Trams, its just that I can get Maps for the Metro System showing all stops on the route but cannot get the same level of detail for the individual Tram routes on www.dp-praha.cz/en.

What are the Night Trams that would go to the Union Hotel after the 18 and 24 stop running?

Buy any decent map of Prague instead of relying on the internet and they will have the tramlines on - the cost of a map is no more than the cost of two beers in Ireland.

Night trams 53 and 55 run from Wenceslas Square to outside the Hotel Union
